Week 3 : Testing the thermoelectric Peltier module

Objective:
Testing the output Peltier module of thermoelectric in various temperature

Analysis/Discussion:
While waiting for delivery my order of Seebeck module, i have done testing on Peltier module

Figure 3: Testing the output of thermoelectric Peltier module

Below is result due to testing of the thermoelectric:
Figure 4: Result from the testing

Conclusion:
Peltier module is best to use for lower temperature difference.

Week 2 : Thermoelectric Generator

Objectives:
To buy the main component for the project.

Analysis/Discussion:

The first component that need to have is the heart of the projects that is the thermoelectric. Today i have purchase Peltier module TEC1-12708 from electronic store in Kuala Lumpur and Seebeck module TEG2-07025HT-SS from http://tecteg.com.
Figure 1: TEG2-07025HT-SS from http://tecteg.com.
Figure 2: TEC1-12708 from electronic store in Kuala Lumpur

Below is table regarding to specification of Peltier module of thermoelectric generator.

Table 1: Specification of Peltier module

Description of Seebeck module TEG2-07025HT-SS from http://tecteg.com.
"TEG2-07025HT-SS is a unique hybrid module. As long as a DT is applied to the module surfaces DC current will be generated. The module incorporates several unique engineered processes that allow it to withstand temperatures up to 190°C (374°F) hot side. The P and N elements incorporated in this module offer the greatest heat transfer capability in a 40 x 40 mm configuration, resulting in the highest potential power densities. The TEG2-07025HT-SS is ideally suited for liquid to liquid applications. It can be specified in both ceramic or Graphite covered. Graphite sheet offers exceptional thermal transfer ability, require no thermal grease and will not degrade over the life of the TEG module."

Conclusion:
Peltier module and Seebeck module is buying to make comparison the output between them

Week 1 : The Beginning of Final Year Project II Degree

Objectives:
To begin the next semester of Final Year Project called stage as FYP II.

Analysis/Discussion:
The first week of second semester of final year project just started. All the listed components as had been managed in the previous proposal report was rechecked to aim to the right place for start searching process in making the prototype of the project. All available components for this project that already in market in this country are listed as below:
1. Thermoelectric generator
2. DC-DC booster circuit
3. Heat sink
4. DC Brushless Fan
5. Heat compound

Conclusion:
All needed item for this project need to be prepared by end of week 3.
